About Budget Rent a Car
A division of the AVIS Budget Group, Budget Rent a Car was the brainchild of Morris Mirkin, who established the company in 1958 in California, while its operations began in New Jersey. The name “Budget” would mean that the company would undercut daily and per mile rental costs to provide customers with more accessible renting plans. Starting initially with just 10 cars, the rent a car company today holds stead in several locations across the globe. Budget Rent a Car provides government employee deals, special rates within cities and travel agent reservations, among other offerings.
